Customer’s Visit of Bakelite Handle Workshop-Ningbo Xianghai Kitchenware

Last week, We hosted a client’s on‑site visit of workshop. The client was given a full tour of our production workshop, where they observed the complete manufacturing workflow of bakelite handles first‑hand.  A number of technical and process‑related questions were put forward by the client throughout the visit. Here are some questions customer are interested.

Q&A for Bakelite Handles

Q1：Do the soft touch painting of bakelite handle are made in the same workshop ? 

A： Separate factories for bakelite body and painting The bakelite handles are manufactured and cleaned in our factory, then sent to our specialized external painting vendor for coating. The process includes primer + top coat, cured at around 100°C. After painting is finished, handles are sent back to our facility for final assembly and packing. We carry out incoming inspection and final check after painting.

Q2：Do you have the Warranty & color fastness standard for painted soft touch handles? 

A:  We do not have published formal written standard for color retention. Under normal usage, no direct flame contact, the handles will not discolor. If exposed to open flame for long time, yellowing or color fading may occur, which is caused by usage environment, not product defect.

Q3: Is there any color difference for the painting ? 

A:  Color difference control for painted surface Color consistency is guaranteed within the same batch.  Slight color variation may exist between different batches due to paint raw material and spraying environment. Preproduction sample confirmation is recommended for mass production.

Q4: How to ensure the quality of bakelite handles? 

A: We will proceed the Quality & strength test for each batch of goods.

Pure bakelite handles: 100 cm free fall drop test, no breakage or heavy chipping.

Handles with metal inserts: 10 kg weight hanging test at handle end, no crack, no loose metal insert. Random inspection is performed before shipment.

Q5:  What’s the Monthly input for bakelite handles? 

A: Monthly production capacity Total monthly capacity for pure bakelite handles: 500,000 pcs. Max output for single item: 150,000 pcs per month.

Lead time Standard orders: within 30 days. For wood grain effect handles or painted handles: add extra 10 days for external painting, curing and inspection.

Q6: What’s your main markets & customers ?

A: Our main export markets are Europe, Japan & South Korea, Southeast Asia, serving B2B cookware clients.
